Your Heart Works While You Sleep
Your heart keeps working all night… even while you sleep!
Why?
Your heart is a strong muscle about the size of your fist. It pumps blood all around your body, carrying the food and air your body needs.
You rest when you sleep, but your heart never stops! It keeps working all day and all night, beating about 70 to 100 times every minute while you are resting.
Try it
Make a fist ✊ — that's about the size of your heart! Now squeeze and open your fist as fast as you can for one whole minute. Is your hand getting tired? Your heart does this all the time and never takes a break!
